The before 30 bucket list – Please note, I’m 37

Here is a blogpost I posted on my very first blog. As you can see it’s a little old considering I wrote this when I was 25 and I’m now 37. That’s how long I’ve been writing online and how long I had this domain name for (I think).

Why am I posting this again? Well I’m relaunching this as my “business site” but the thing I am selling is me, well my time actually. And I thought it would be a sweet first blog. A retrospective of some kind.

Spoiler alert! I did really badly with my bucket list.

Ever since I turned 25 I have been going on and on about my before 30 bucket list…

As the name suggests the before 30 bucket list is a list of all the things you want (have) to do before you’re 30. Why? Well two reasons really. First because some of these things would be an accomplishment if achieved before 30.

Secondly because there are certain things that are “a certain age appropriate”. This is very similar to not being able to go out in your pyjama bottoms after you have finished university.  In the same manner, certain things can only be done when you’re in your 20s.. For fun I’m not going to outline what’s what.

So here goes in no particular order;

  • Visit Iceland and take some amazing photos – as soon as this pandemic is over Iceland is the first place I’ll visit.
  • Learn Japanese – I do know more than a few words in Japanese but only the basics.
  • Dress up as Sailor Moon for Halloween or Carnival – haha!
  • Ride a roller-coaster – no and please don’t judge.
  • Go Skiing – nope.
  • Start my own business – I now work for myself, so check!
  • Write a book, or get something of mine published – happy to say I’ve been published on the Times of Malta several times.
  • Go to Glastonbury – no, but I’ve been to Tramlines and I’m happy with that.
  • Learn how to ride a motorcycle – I know how to ride a bicycle, that counts right?
  • Go on a road trip – there were a few of those.
  • Get cast as an extra in a movie/TV series – nope and I don’t think it’s something I’m interested in anymore.
  • See the Mona Lisa at the Louvre – check!
  • Spend a weekend “online” – check!
  • Get a tattoo – still no tattoo but it’s in the works as soon as this pandemic is a thing of the past.
  • Skinny dip at a public beach – we’ll keep this as a mystery.

Those things should keep me busy for the next 2 years and 2 months (as of August 2o11).

OK so maybe I shouldn’t be too hard on myself. I am very happy with what I have achieved since then. Things that aren’t in this list but were still very important to me.

So there goes my first blog. Now that’s out of the way, there’s no more first blog jitters.
